Pastor and Luther Scholar, Bill Russell, lives and works at the
intersection of the church and the academy. A frequent speaker to lay
and clergy audiences, he teaches Church History at Mercer University's
McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta, GA. Russell has served parishes in
Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Georgia. He holds a Ph.D. from the
University of Iowa. His most recent book, Praying for Reform: Luther,
Prayer, and the Christian Life (Augsburg-Fortress), explores the
importance of prayer to Luther himself--as well as how Luther's
understanding and practice of prayer are still relevant today. He is
married to Ann Svennungsen and the father of Sarah, John, and Mary.
