David Pope is President of the Village of Oak Park, a diverse
community of 55,000 residents just outside of Chicago. Elected in
April 2005 at the age of 38, David is one of the youngest municipal
chief executives in the state of Illinois. He brings to the role a
professional background as a management consultant, having served as a
Principal with Price Waterhouse's Strategy Consulting Practice prior
to founding his own firm. But he also draws upon other important
influences including his work 15 years ago as a Peace Corps Volunteer
in Thailand, his background as a founding Board Member of RAINN - the
United States' national rape crisis hotline, and the power of faith
and providence exemplified in his life. He is proud to be the husband
of Beth Houle and father to their young daughter Elise.
