Jerry Evenrud
Program: New Beginnings
Jerry Evenrud is a retired church
musician who has an a vocational passion for visual arts. While Evenrud
was serving as Director of the Ministry of Music at Grace Lutheran
Church, Eau Claire. Wisconsin, he was a member of the "Art for Faith’s
Sake" committee that was developing a collection of biblical art.

Particularly inspired by one piece interpreting the parable of the
Prodigal Son (pictured left), he began developing his private collection. The images in
this book are selected from the more than 200 pieces in his collection.
Evenrud served as director of music and the arts for the American
Lutheran Church from 1976 to 1987, at which time he was appointed to a
similar position for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. While
there he developed a biblically-inspired collection of art for the
churchwide office in Chicago. Evenrud is a Distinguished Alumnus of St.
Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota.
