Program:
A Theological ABC
The
Rev. Dr. John Vannorsdall is a retired ELCA pastor whose last call was
to the presidency of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.
He previously served as University Chaplain at Yale, College Chaplain at
Gettysburg (where Bishop Knoche was a five-year partner), Campus Pastor
at Cornell, and as the pastor of two congregations.
With thanks to the U.S. Navy, he graduated
with honors from Harvard and received his Master of Divinity degree from
the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He was a preacher on
"The Protestant Radio Hour" from 1976 to 1990, and his published
writings include three books and more than a hundred articles.
Gettysburg College and Susquehanna University have honored him with
degrees.
Service on the local school board and some
writing and lecturing take whatever time is unused by the upkeep on the
rural Massachusetts home where John and his wife, Patricia, now live. |
