Thompson received his Master of Education in Art from Edinboro
University of Pennsylvania in 1975, and has been an art teacher with the
Oil City, Pennsylvania area schools since 1982. He is affiliated with
Christians in the Visual Arts in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the
International Sculpture Center in Washington D.C., and the Society of
Sculptors and the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. His work has been featured in The Lutheran Magazine,
(Volume XII, No. 7, p. 22, 2000),and in The Welding Innovation Quarterly
(Vol. IX, No. 1, 1992) in an article called “The Creative Spark:
Sculptors Who Weld,” by Carla Rautengerg.
